The process of creating a sustainable wine involved more than making the wine look and taste good (which it absolutely does). It requires a very lengthy certifications that not many vintners are willing to go through. For a wine to be sustainable the farm and winery as looked at as an entire system that takes responsibility for the health of the soil and wildlife habitat of the whole.

Wines like our 2017 Pinot Gris, Bayani Reserve Pinot Noir, For Our Daughters Rose and 2019 SisterFriends Chardonnay were all harvested sustainably. The viticulture of these wines are what makes them unique as the vines themselves were grown in organic soil to produce a wine that's crisp, clean and doesn't have any cloudiness.
As the winemaker, Donna Stoney plans to receive mentorship from winemaker Michael Lundeen of Walnut City Wineworks to learn first hand what it takes to make sustainable wine.
As Operation Manager, Dominque Stoney puts it, sustainable winemaking is important because " it ties into Donna and the winery, coming from a career where she helps others, now she can help the environment"
